Laundry - Sheets

Hey there!

I know its been a long time since we have had a chance to chat. I hope you are doing well. How has 2025 been treating you?

Well, I won't keep you long today. I just had a question for you. Do you know how to fold fitted sheets? I do, I love it. Popeye tells me its sorcery -- because I am able to get it all folded up and tucked into each other. See pictures below. Anyway, do you agree with Popeye or are you like me and get such satisfaction of having your sheets folded just right?

I hope to catch up with you later and we can share about how this year has been. Till then, I hope you remember to take care, give yourself grace, and keep the faith.

Always,
Simply Me

This is a set: fitted sheet, top sheet, and two pillowcases tucked in.

Same set as the one above, just a different view.

Sock gremlins

The sock gremlins strick again. I am not sure how a pair of socks can enter the washer machine, come out together and enter the dryer and then come out solo. This is a mystery i have yet to solve. I have folded all the clothes that were apart of that load and yet they are missing. Where did they go? Why did they leave me? Socks please come back. My feet need you!!

Thankful on a Random September Monday Evening

Its a random Monday evening in September and I am feeling extra thankful. Its getting close to that time of year where people are more intentional about being thankful. This year one of the many things I have tried to implement in my life is having an attitude of gratitude. Some days are better than others. However, for the most part, I try to list off at least 3 things that I am thankful for before I go to bed at night. In talking with my friend Liza; recently, I was reminded on why it is important to reflect on your day and find something to be thankful for. It definitely helps me to refocus. If I am having a bad day, it helps me realize that though it may have had some tough moments there were some good ones too. If I had a lot going on during the day it helps me reflect on what I actually did and/or enjoyed. There are so many good reasons for making a daily thankful list.

With that being said here is my list for today:

  1. I am thankful that I had today off. My body needed an extra day to "rest"/
  2. I am thankful for my workout group. I may actually reach my goals that I have set for the next few months.
  3. I am thankful for Popeye. He is a blessing to me and my life.
  4. I am so thankful for reconnecting with my friend from Guam. Liza, helped me so much while I was on Guam. Now she is at a conference on the mainland and its been so nice to talk with her. Miss her and my tiny island.
  5. I am thankful for my blog. I know I don't write often but its always there for when I need to vent or just share a thought.

Random Text From Kayla

Kayla and I talk almost every day. Today's conversation started out as text messages. In the middle of our conversation, she sends me the most random thing I've read all day. We both thought it was funny so I naturally had to share it with you...Everyone needs a Kayla in their life...I am so grateful to have her in mine.

"Beans, beans the magical fruit the more you eat the more you poot. Beans, beans a magical art, the more you eat the more you fart!!"

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha and that my dear readers is your comedy for today.

On this Day

On Facebook, they have an "On This Day" feature. Normally, I ignore it but the past few days, it has brought up some good memories. One of those memories, was my very first homecoming--the day my Popeye came home.

Since then we have had several homecomings but each of them are amazing. The sacrifice we make each time of being apart all becomes worth it for that first hug and kiss. There is something magicial about those precious first moments. Its just as magical as our wedding day. I look forward to homecomings for several reasons; but, one of my top reasons is for that hug and kiss. It is almost as if we have never done it before in our relationship. These moments are so priceless and precious.

My three random thoughts for today....

Three things to start off this week:
1. One of the things I hate the most in my queendom is a bad run. Yoda and I went running this morning and it was not so great..but its ok we will repeat this run later.

2. Last week, I drove Darth Vader for the first time without my sign. Thank you to everyone who have shared tips, sat in the passenger seat, drove behind me, cheered me on, and prayed for me. *selftaught*

3. Homemade garlic bread, spicy veggie penne and a foot rub is what I got from my awesome husband last night to end a great weekend and start off my week. (*notonlyismybrotherbetterthanyoursbutmyhusbandisalsobetterthanyours~~beveryjealous*)
Have a great week everyone!!

I can't technology

I have unintentionally successfully killed all the tablets in my house. How? I am not even sure, the screen just went black and wouldn't turn back on. One frozen in a middle of a update. Either way, they all met their demise in my hands. I took two of the three tablets to my Guam Dad and brother to take a look at. One of the two tablets, to my surprise was not dead at all in the sense of me breaking it. It just had an extremely dead battery. LOL! I am a genius---I can't technology.

Personality

I took this personality quiz. I am always interested to see what things comes up with. And though as I get older I feel that I change as a person, my personality test doesn't change that much. Here is the results that I got. I can agree and disagree with bits and pieces of this. But I think overall it is a good description of how I look at myself. I hope others would agree but who knows.

ENFJ - DESCRIPTION

ENFJs are people-focused individuals. They have a special gift with people, understanding and caring about them. They like to support and encourage them. Bringing out the best in others and giving love is a great source of personal satisfaction for ENFJs.

Because of their extraordinary social skill, they can make people do exactly what they want, getting under people's skin and get the reactions they are seeking. Although ENFJs motives are usually unselfish, ENFJ is one of the most manipulative personality types.

ENFJ have a tendency to be very self critical and can have dark thoughts when they spend too much time alone.

ENFJs are usually more reserved than other extroverted types. Because they focus on other people's feeling, they will most likely adapt their behavior like a chameleon.

This does not mean that they don't have any opinions: ENFJs set up values and clearly defend those as long as they are not too personal. ENFJs that do not reveal their true selves and focus too much on the feelings of others might feel quite lonely despite their intense social life.

ENFJs are generally very popular. They are fun to be with, warm and straight-forward, energetic and fast-paced. They have a strong need for durable intimate relationships. They are extremely loyal and trustworthy when they get involved in such relationships.

ENFJs like well-organized things and pay attention to always keep everything well structured around them, especially in their home.

In the work place, ENFJs are naturals for every situation that requires dealing with people. They are extremely good when it comes to inspiring and leading others.

Rabbit Rabbit

Several years ago, when I was a student at Union College in Lincoln, NE. I had a roommate named Elizabeth. On the first of the month of every month she would tell me "rabbit rabbit". To this day, I am not quite sure exactly what it means, what the importance of it is, etc. Yes, years later we keep up with the tradition. I try to say it to her first but I usually forget. As we have both graduated and have moved on with our lives--rabbit rabbit has become the one time a month that you know we will reconnect, catch up on each others worlds, etc. I truly treasure these moments with her Anyway, alllll year long so far she has gotten me first. I told Elizabeth last month that September would be my month!! And wouldn't you know it, I actually got to her first. :) Several hours later, I realized "hey!!! I didn't talk to Elizabeth yet" So I sent her a text calling her out on her lack of response, lol. Here reply made me laugh and smile. She said that she "was kind of irked because she was in the processes of texting me when my text came through". Such a golden moment lol. I love my ex-roomie. We have many great memories and I love that we have this to keep our friendship and randomness alive. I am going to try and go for a record and get her next month as well. Wish me luck!

Snake

This snake was in my garage last night. It is the second snake on my driveway since November...Why do these things find their way to my life? Thank God for base security as they came to my rescue. They killed it and disposed of it for me...

31 days of celebration

Starting July 1st (Guam Time) and ending July 31(stateside) my best friend Kayla and I will be celebrating our birthdays for 31 days. We both share the same birthday month and since we can't be together to celebrate it, we are going to do something every day for the month of July to celebrate. I am so excited about it.

Flowers

My Guam family recently came back from their vacation to Bali. They brought back these flowers for me...I love them and add some color to my kitchen table.
